DICOM Print Manager

The Hipax DICOM Print Manager allows the user to process the same print job on different DICOM printers or Windows printers.

The DICOM print jobs are received from the DICOM modalities or workstations, administrated, and emitted page by page corresponding to the capability of the used printer. Print jobs can also be buffered and redirected. Thus, the Print Manager prevents that print jobs are cancelled and lost because of a capacity overload of the printer.

Modular Architecture

The Print Broker module of the DICOM Print Manager can be used to print on film using DICOM printers.

Using the Print Server module of the Hipax DICOM Print Manager, images can be printed on paper via Windows printer. Fulfilling part 14 of the DICOM standard, the program assures optimal print results.

	Print Broker module Standard to connect 1-2 modalities and DICOM printers.
	Print Broker module Plus to connect >1-2 modalities and DICOM printers.
	Print Server module Standard to connect 1-2 modalities and Windows printers.
	Print Server module Plus to connect >1-2 modalities and Windows printers.

The modules can be used individually or combined.

	Maximum flexibility relating configurations to clients using "Called" and/or "Calling" AE Titles
	Cubic interpolation for highest quality image enlargement on the print-out
	Ability to insert foot-notes, e.g. with modality, department, logo
	Layout informations of the sending stations are adopted and and considered for printing (standard, column, row). Furthermore, many CUSTOM formats are supported
	Individual adaptation of the print-out (margins, spaces, background color, etc.)

Software Required

	Windows 2000 or XP (from XP SP 2, the PC needs least super user rights)
	Hipax Print Manager with the modules Print Broker and/or Print Server, depending on the demands

Test Version

A free of charge Test Version of the Hipax DICOM Print Manager (Version 2.1.0) can be downloaded from our server (ca. 10 MB).

To activate the test version a code needs to be entered. The code is time limited and can be ordered from the manufacturer using info@hipax.de.
As a restriction of the software for test purpose, the demo version opens a dialog every 10 minutes, to be accepted or cancelled. After cancelling, it takes ca. 1 minute for the Print Manager to start again.
